The Accidental Project Manager

The Accidental Project Manager

Josh Nankivel, who created the pmStudent community we now enjoy, was an accidental manager.
Yes, me too! Maybe you will, too.
It is not unusual for some of us to stumble upon project management.
Last week, I was talking to a client about project management. He was interested in learning more about the process. “It seems that so many of you just turned into project managers because that’s what your employer required you to do.”
We did not all arrive here by chance. Many of you have made project management a part of your career path.
When someone pointed at your face in a meeting and said, “Well, you are the project manager,” it didn’t reveal your job title. ?
This is how I got my title. (Click here for the video and to hear my story.)
Fast forward to today. I have been involved in project management since 1997. I have worked as a program manager, and briefly managed a PMO (Program Management Office). It is my pleasure to help you manage your projects. To be your coach, your instructor, and your resource.
I am not an accidental project manager anymore. Today, I am a committed supporter of project mangers. Thank you for allowing us to be part your world.
